Classrooms Need Lake Victoria's Stories.
Looking in children's eyes changed everything for me.
I have lived in Uganda within the Lake Victoria basin all of my life.
Before Pause Conservations started going to schools. I had never thought I would be able one day tell a school going child about homes of species that continue disappearing because of human activities.
Homes like Lake Victoria.
Where small fish are likely to die because you and I didn't take it as our responsibility to properly dispose of our trash.
School outreaches have completely changed how I feel about my work.
I am more confident about the change I can bring about with an effective aquatic conservation program in our classrooms here in Uganda.
For the first time in my life, I saw children's eyes brighten with curiosity after sharing some of my stories with them in a reading session.
Now, I am preparing to officially launch my storybook with biodiversity knowledge, a project that I believe will be part of the solution in bringing to life a biodiversity-conscious population in sub-Saharan Africa.
I welcome you on this journey, because I have recently taken on a new hat, a hat I am very proud of. Call me a biodiversity storyteller when you get to read my storybook.
Then a conservation teacher, when you get to join one of the classes where I get to share what I know and what I am learning about animals from Lake Victoria with school-going children.

Help a child fall in love with nature with one storybook.
In Uganda many rural schools can’t teach children about conserving the environment, they don’t have the books to help them. This is why I’ve been writing a storybook filled with biodiversity knowledge from Lake Victoria.
